Scholarship Opportunities

Health Care Family Credit Union is happy to offer three scholarship opportunities to area students.  The three scholarship categories are listed below.  To enter you, print and mail an application to either HCFCU office.  You can also complete the online application form and attach your essay then click submit.  If you have any questions regarding the scholarships, contact Sam Davis at 314-446-3550 or by email

Future Health Care Provider Scholarship:  $1,000

The Future Health Care Provider Scholarship is open to high school graduates of 2020 who plan to pursue a degree in a health care related field.  These students should be planning on starting their schooling in the fall of 2020.

Health Care Education Continuance Scholarship:  $1,000

The Health Care Education Continuance Scholarship is open to all students who have completed at least one semester of classes towards a degree in a health care related field, and plan on continuing their education in health care.

Karen Kenney Scholarship:  $1,000

The Karen Kenney Scholarship is for high school graduates of 2020 who plan on attending college in the fall of 2020.  This scholarship is open to all fields of study.

Essay Topics (Choose One):

  • What would you like to do to change the world for the better?
  • What has been your favorite, or least favorite, part about your educational experience so far?
  • What is the most difficult challenge you have ever faced? How did you handle it?

Please complete and return the application form along with your essay.  Essays should be between 500 and 750 words.  There are two ways you can submit your application.  You can print and mail an application and essay to either of our offices.  You can also submit your application online.  Links to both options are below.


One application per student, past winners may not win the same award again.  All applications and essays become the property of Health Care Family Credit Union.  Selection of scholarship winners will be made by a committee, which will include at least two HCFCU staff members.  Selection of winners will be based on the quality of the submitted application and essay, not any views or opinions expressed in the essay or application.

Application deadline is Sunday, March 1st.    A check presentation will take place during the HCFCU Annual Meeting.
